Process I - Winter 2014

NUR 1020 – January, 2014

Dear Student:

Welcome everyone to Process I/ NUR 1020 at Broward College. This course will meet on Mondays and Fridays from 0900-1200 in room TBA. Our first day of lecture is Friday, January 10, 2014  and attendance is mandatory. Please print out a copy of the syllabus (posted on D2L) and bring it with you on our first lecture day. (D2L course material will be available on January 6, 2014.)

NOTE: First day of clinical is Tuesday, January 7 at 0800 in Building 8, Room 153.  Please print all of the documents under the clinical information icon and bring them with you on your first day of clinical. You are expected to be in uniform and have your completed portfolio document in the front of your portfolio binder. They will be checked on the first clinical day.

Process I moves very quickly. Some of the content is designated “Self Study”, meaning you are responsible for reviewing the material on your own. A schedule of reading assignments and scheduled test dates is being provided to you. The course modules will be posted in D2L for your convenience.

I look forward to meeting all of you and promise to give you everything that I have as a teacher. Having said that, I will expect the same from you.  My expectation is that you come to class, prepared by having completed the reading assignment and reviewing posted Power Points prior to lecture. As Benjamin Franklin said, “You may delay, but time will not.” It is too easy to fall behind, and, if you have questions, they can be addressed in a timely manner. I can be reached at my BC e-mail, mbourie@broward.edu, or via D2L e-mail. I am looking forward to working and learning with each of you!

Sincerely,

Michelle Bourie, MSN, RN
